IMBcom is proud to sponsor a wide variety of events both within the general community and biotech industry. Some programs simply create awareness within the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) and accumulate support from staff and students within the IMB; helping to educate and create interest in IMBcom’s focus. However, sponsorship is actually primarily used as an external tool for developing relationships and communication channels externally within the biotech industry. In 2008 IMBcom sponsored a number of events some of which had a strong industry focus and other were simply community based.

$1000 Donation
In lieu of sending out christmas cards, each year IMBcom donates to a selected charity. This year IMBcom donated $1000 to ACT for Kids (Abused Child Trust). ACT for Kids is a not-for-profit organisation which gives direct parenting support to over 1,200 families through their network of ACT for Kids family centres.
