IMBcom's 8th Annual BioBusiness Retreat for 3rd Year PhD Students at the IMB will be held from 1st to 3rd April 2009 at Noosa Springs Resort, Noosa Heads.
The BioBusiness Retreat is for third year students where we discuss in detail specific issues at the business end of biotechnology. We also aim to prepare students for their future careers.
The Retreat program challenges the students to create a hypothetical biotech company within a group. Each company is tasked with developing a funding pitch with the aim of successfully sourcing venture capital funding. The program encompasses roundtable discussions, a trivia competition, social activity prizes and team building events.
IMBcom uses its industry networks to bring the experience of successful entrepreneurs from the world of bioscience to the educational program.
