| About IMB |
The Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) is a major contributor to world knowledge in the fields of human and animal biology, health and medicine, through excellence in fundamental research, research applications, and graduate education.
As one of Australasia's leading research institutes in its field, IMB integrates the full spectrum of molecular bioscience research from gene discovery to molecular applications. It undertakes strategic and applied biomedical and biological research using some of the Southern Hemisphere’s most cutting-edge technology.

The Institute links these cutting-edge facilities with state-of-the-art research in:
• Genomics and Bioinformatics
• Molecular Genetics and Development
• Molecular Cell Biology
• Chemical and Structural Biology
to better understand human and animal biology, and to develop new pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and disease therapies. The IMB is an innovative joint research and development initiative of The University of Queensland, the Queensland Government and the Commonwealth Government.
