As part of IMBcom's commitment to the Institute of Molecular Bioscience (IMB), IMBcom provides training programs to IMB’s staff and students. The education program is made up of two major events, including a one-day workshop induction for first year students and a three-day retreat – the BioBusiness Retreat – for third year students.
Both events provide an overview of the industry and discuss specific issues at the business end of biotechnology. Both activities deliver important career information in order to support Students' career choices after completion of their PhD.
IMBcom aims to deliver high quality programs of education about the protection, development and management of intellectual property. IMBcom uses its industry networks to profile the experience of successful entrepreneurs from the many different walks of Bioscience, Legal, Intellectual Property, Venture Capital and Commercialisation together, in order to give a complete picture to the students.
